Private residential treatment for addiction, burnout, depression and trauma, in a villa in Hout Bay, Cape Town. A direct flight from London, collected at the airport, and never more than six clients at a time.
Some people want treatment close to home. Others need the opposite: distance from the places, routines and people connected to what they are struggling with.
A stay in Cape Town gives you that distance, and the privacy of being somewhere nobody knows you. The practical side stays simple: one flight, one point of contact who helps you plan it, and a team that collects you at the airport and knows your plan before you arrive.
There is no waiting list and you do not need a GP referral. Your stay is self-funded: we do not bill the NHS or an insurer, so nothing is claimed through us, and we do not inform your employer.
We treat addiction and alcohol, with medically supervised detox included if you need it, executive burnout, depression, trauma and PTSD, and dual diagnosis: mental health and substance use together.
“Effective recovery work requires more than removing substances. It requires restoring structure, self-responsibility, and emotional clarity in a way that feels safe and achievable for the individual.”
Fees for clients from the UK are per four-week stay and invoiced in euros; the amount in pounds moves with the exchange rate. The rooms differ only in size and view. The programme, the team and the care are the same in every room. You can find the international rate for each room on our rooms page.
Not included: your flight, aftercare and medication prescribed by your own doctor. Every figure is put in writing before anything is booked.
From the first conversation to aftercare, one point of contact plans each step with you. South Africa is one hour ahead of the UK in British Summer Time and two hours ahead in winter.
Before you travel:
• A confidential conversation by phone, WhatsApp or email, the same day if you wish
• An online intake by video call
• You book your own flight; direct flights from London take about eleven to twelve hours, usually overnight
During your stay:
• Collected personally at Cape Town International Airport
• One-to-one support, medical and therapeutic care, in a steady daily rhythm
• Your family involved from the UK, if you wish
Back home:
• A personal aftercare plan; the first days after you go home are always supported
• Aftercare can continue online, in sessions we agree with you separately
You travel on your own passport. Check the current entry requirements for South Africa on GOV.UK before you book, along with the general travel advice for the country. If you would rather not travel alone, a member of our team can travel with you for an additional fee.
Useful to bring: your passport, any medication you take with the prescription, a summary from your GP if you have one, and comfortable clothes for walks and the gym. You can bring your laptop and phone, and there is good wifi at the villa. Clients from Northern Ireland follow the same steps; from the Republic of Ireland, ask us about travel and entry requirements.
Tell us a little about your situation, or about the person you are worried about. We will talk through your options, the timing and the travel, without obligation.

You decide, together with the care team. Our fees are per four weeks and you can extend if there is room. How long recovery takes differs from person to person; we make no promises about that in advance.
You go home with a personal aftercare plan, and the first days after you return are always supported. After that, support can continue online, in sessions we agree with you separately.
If you’d like guidance specific to your situation, our programme managers are available for a confidential conversation.
